Victory to the workers!

We did it! Wage theft is now a crime in Victoria. The Wage Theft Bill came into force on 1 July 2021. Young workers, union members and activists have campaigned hard for years to stop dodgy bosses stealing wages. Bosses found guilty of the crime of wage theft can now face hefty fines and jail time.

Now it's up to us to make sure we use these laws work for young workers.

If your boss is stealing from you, you can report them directly to the wage theft inspectorate or contact us for assistance reporting.

These resources, from our years of campaigning, may still be useful to you - they will help you organise your co-workers and enforce your legal rights if your boss is still stealing wages.
